Before her appointment to the National Privacy Commission as one of its deputy privacy commissioners, Atty. Nerissa N. De Jesus-Lazaro served as a partner at the M & Associates law firm founded by First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos. She was also an associate attorney at MOST Law (formerly Marcos, Ochoa, Serapio, Tan), another law firm co-founded by AranetaMarcos.
Deputy Commissioner De Jesus previously worked as a lawyer at the Philippine Competition Commission’s (PCC) legal services division, and later became the chief of staff of PCC Commissioner Amabelle Asuncion.
She obtained her law degree from San Sebastian College in Manila and her political science degree from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. Deputy Commissioner De Jesus was admitted to the Bar in 2015, with corporate, government contracts, litigation, regulatory compliance, and special project as her areas of legal practice.
